Sales of TV DVDs are outpacing all other categories, too, says Video Store magazine, accounting for 10% of all sales last year (about $870 million), up from about 6% ($300 million) in 2001.
In addition to improved video quality, "TV DVDs are just so highly collectible and their success reflects the American passion for television," says the magazine's director of research, Judith McCourt.
Fox was diagnosed with the disease in 1991.

The biggest credit one can award to Lady Sarah was that she was so versatile that she in no way used her aristocratic background and hereditary peerage to influence the acting roles she won.
That was, until she was rather depressingly lured back to Doctor Who with "Dimensions in Time" in 1993, where she was forced to wrap herself in a curtain and sit in a garage talking to Ross Kemp.
She remains unfortunately absent from our TV screens today, despite hopes that she might have popped up in Brookside when Mary Tamm left.

"Mad" is a 1963 road comedy from Stanley Kramer ("Guess Who's Coming to Dinner"), while "Fame" was released in 1980 and has already inspired two TV series: 1982's "Fame" and 1997's "Fame L.A."
MGM has also ordered a pilot script for "The Thomas Crown Affair" (which has had two film incarnations) and a spin-off is being considered for the recently released "Legally Blonde," starring Reese Witherspoon.
