Family Coalition Party of Ontario - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The first leader of the party was Donald Pennell, who was previously a candidate for the Ontario Liberal Party in the 1975 provincial election.
Some leading figures in the party support a Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) model, similar to the system used in countries such as Germany and Italy, to provide greater representation to smaller parties (the party is scheduled to hear a presentation on MMP at its annual meeting in April 2006).
Many of the Family Coalition Party's policies are also supported by the federal Christian Heritage Party, and some FCP candidates have campaigned for the CHP at the federal level.

The Ontario Liberal Government dropped the "same-sex partner" definition introduced by the Progressive Conservatives in 1999, and re-defined "spouse" as any two persons living together in a conjugal relationship, whether married or not.
Since the intent of the legislation is to open the definition of marriage to same-sex couples, then the meaning of "conjugal relationship" must be interpreted to change from "a man and his wife united for life, for the purposes of establishing a family" to "any two people copulating".
With the government and the Ontario Elementary Teachers officially supporting the teaching that new marriages are to be promoted, we will be teaching our children that to be a "spouse" all you need to do is to be in bed with someone, of any sex and preference.

There are provincial political parties that share the CHP's commitment to Biblical principles — such as the Family Coalition Party in Ontario — and we endorse them, because our joint commitment to reliance on a higher Source of knowledge transcends constitutional politics.
The most important action we, as citizens, can embrace is to stop governments — whether federal or provincial — from continuing to act like enemies of the culture.
Any politician or party that isn’t committed to that remedy is part of the problem.
