  'Family Guy' game funny but flawed - CNN.com
Fox's animated comedy Family Guy has a huge fan following -- so much so that fans bought 5 million copies of the TV series on DVD after it was cancelled, prompting Fox to put the show back on the air.
In Family Guy, players can take control of three key characters in the Griffin household: Peter, the obese and impulsive father; Brian, the classy talking dog with a penchant for martinis; and Stewie, a diabolical baby bent on world domination.
While it's an average game, Family Guy is worth the ride for fans of the TV show, but others should avoid this title like Peter avoids hard work and quality family time.

Family Guy is an animated television series set in the fictional town of Quahog (pronounced "CO-hog"), Rhode Island.
Fox cited poor viewing figures as part of their reason for not renewing the show but critics claimed this was due to the erratic scheduling the show had received and the fact that it was shown at the same time as Friends and Survivor, two very popular shows at the time.
Family Guy centres around Peter Griffin and his family, there are also many other characters who appear on a less regular basis.

Although a popular animated series, Family Guy is the target of much criticism due to what some feel are controversial and inappropriate subject matter, lack of originality, poor animation, random jokes that do not correspond to the plot, and substandard writing quality.
I think Family Guy and American Dad have definitely staked out their own style and territory, and now the accusations are coming that The Simpsons is taking jokes from Family Guy.
Family Guy actually did something very close to this later on, in "The Perfect Castaway" in which the four main male leads from the show, Peter, Joe, Cleveland, and Quagmire get stranded on a deserted island and make jokes and get into situations all related to being gay.

Family Guy is, by far, the funniest animated television series since the Simpsons were in their prime.
Family Guy is definitely not for the kids...all of the situations are adult and sometimes are borderline risque (which got the series cancelled, unfortunately).
That's what Family Guy is. A real show is a show like The Simpsons, where their jokes ARE relevant to the plot, the stories ARE interesting and creative, and the originality is GREAT.
