Fantastic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fantastic is sometimes known as the Grotesque, possibly because in the 19th century its practitioners wrote stories set in poverty, examined social problems, or featured strange personalities.
An example of a painter of the Fantastic is Marc Chagall, where one finds for example everyday elements of shtetl life defying a sense of gravity.
In Elizabethan slang, a Fantastic was a rake; an "effeminate fool" or "improvident young gallant".

Fantastic Four - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The children of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman, Franklin Richards and Valeria Richards, are also regulars in the series.
Unlike most superheroes, the Fantastic Four's identities are not secret and they maintain a high public profile, enjoying celebrity status for their scientific and heroic contributions to society.
Issue #10 (Jan. 1963) established the conceit that the Fantastic Four (and by extenstion the rest of the Marvel universe) existed in the same world as Marvel Comics; the team-members, it was explained, had licensed their names and likenesses to the company, and the rights to adapt their "real-life" adventures.

Fantastic 4 for GameCube Review - GameCube Fantastic 4 Review
Fantastic 4 is a beat-'em-up based on a movie of the same name, which is in turn based on a comic book series created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, but it's not destined for the legendary status of its namesake.
Fantastic is able to stretch and deform himself, which allows him to reach far-away objects and attack enemies from a great distance.
Fantastic 4's biggest failing is that it lacks a lot in the overall feel of the gameplay, which is important for a beat-'em-up.

Wham! : Fantastic! - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
With Fantastic, George Michael and partner Andrew Ridgeley introduced themselves as leather jacket-clad, street-smart "rebels." This approach proved wildly popular in the U.K., where Fantastic was a Top Ten hit, but the album went largely unnoticed in the States.
Fantastic is now notable only for its early appearance of Michael, who would become an international superstar by the mid-'80s.
While Fantastic showcases the young (20 at the time of the album's release) George Michael's ability to craft engaging, hook-filled melodies, much of the material on Fantastic suffers from the duo's pretentious, tough-guy posturing.

In the context of western literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, The Fantastic involves dread, fear and anxiety in the face of phenomena that escape rational explanation, or that reveal the notion of reality to be no more than a construct.
A fantastic experience can therefore be likened to the breaking or shattering of a frame.
While the literary fantastic is limited to the last 200 years, the Fantastic in art can be construed more broadly.

The ironic thing is that just recently there really was a funny family action film about a quartet of super-heroes consisting of a super-stretcher, a super-heavyweight, an invisible girl with force fields, and a blazing young lad.
