Far was a band from Sacramento, USA, spawned from the same local scene as the Deftones, their former touring partners.
Certainly it was a departure from their earlier, much more hardcore sound (although it is still far from the emo-pop that it would quickly come to inspire).
He also has his own studio where he has produced such bands as Giant Drag, The X-Ecutioners, and most recently, the Deftones fifth (as yet untitled) record to be released by Maverick Records.

Far had its beginnings in 1992, Sacramento, California, featuring guitarist Shaun Lopez, singer Jonah Matranga, his high school pal Chris Robyn and bassist John Gutenberger.
On a recent tour with the band Thursday, he discovered the guys were Far fans, and they teamed up on stage to perform "Mother Mary" from Water and Solutions.
So while no Far reunion is likely in the near-future, they're all proud of what they achieved as a band and excited at the prospect of Water and Solutions finding a new, larger audience a second time around, more than a half-decade later.

Yet another best of Rinken Band, which considering they never had quite what could be called 'hits' is quite some going. This one though is probably the best of the bunch. 21 tracks from throughout their career, and all the songs they became loved for.
Rinken Band's excellent Eisa, (festival) material is given the remix treatment by Okinawan djs, including dj olive who has worked in New York. Good at what it is, with added new field recordings.
