SiN has created a new website for the Spanish demogroup Concept based on a cool idea: the group is presented as a large corporation; the group members are presented as members of the board of directors, there's a share price graph, and everything looks serious, thus making it especially funny.
Also, the final version of Art by Scoopex & Farbrausch, the winning 64k intro at Mekka 2001 (now only 46 kbytes), is available at farb-rausch.com and CFXweb along with its source code.
The demogroup oCCult uploaded a 160 MByte archive containing 740 hi-res jpg photos from Mekka & Symposium 2001 to their server.

Unfortunately, the source of demo culture lay hidden thousands of kilometres away, and he felt very alone in his appreciation of demos.
His Canadian schoolmates were entirely unaware of the demoscene, and any effort to create a local demogroup was always met with complete disinterest.
Moving to a small town meant starting from scratch: New friends needed to be made and new hobbies needed to be discovered.

Although there are programs known as demomakers or demotools that allow the creation of technically decent demos without coder involvement, demogroups not using any code of their own are still widely frowned upon.
Earliest demos were typically made in machine code monitors, the same programs that were used by the crackers to crack copy protections.
Nowadays, the achievements of the Farbrausch group are well-known.

There had been very nice releases by farbrausch (then a fairly young and hardly-known group) and witchcraft; which of them were going to win?
This fact led to quite a hot debate in the comp.sys.ibm.pc.demos newsgroup, in which several individual members of farbrausch stated that they had not been in favour of releasing this production.
Judging from these incidents, one may induce the rule: if you want to win a party with a high quality production, then it must be a really high quality one, or you have no chances against the well-known names.

Conspiracy is a Hungarian demogroup founded in late 2002.
Being an amalgam of various other groups, founding members were members of demogroups Digital Dynamite, Inquisition and Ümlaüt Design.
Out of the unknown, Conspiracy beats Farbrausch at their own league, that pretty much defines a breakthrough.

No, I'm not a Farbrausch member :) I'm from Conspiracy, and we're the ones that first managed to beat them on their own grounds :) The software I developed is quite similar to theirs, and I had something like that in mind for the VJ prog too.
maybe it is interesting for you to know that the graphicain "witjah" from the demogroup "plastic" also did some nice 3d scenes for hippotizer.

Since Farbrausch was at Takeover too, I searched the party place for people wearing MS2K1 organizer shirts, and yes, Ryg was there too and could help me out.
Cocoon, the french demogroup that made Shad and Shad2, has made something completely different this time: Glon243 (See the complete review in a quality E-zine near you :)) The rest of the 9 demos was of high quality, compared with the level of the other TO2K1 compos.
Da P also called Farbrausch on the podium, reprimanded them for adding 1200 votes to the graphics compo (which was very noticable cause the highest pic had only 70 votes), then thanked them for helping to fix it back and they all got a T-shirt (50% of the audience applauded, 50% shouted boo).
