In ancient Roman sources the whole Transcaucasian Georgia is called Iberia, as well as the Greek name for Georgians, that seems to be connected with the Armenian ethnonym "Ivirk".
There their descendants are now commonly known as "Basques", though their national name is "Euskadi", whose origin has been a matter of controversy but now it is proved that they came from the ancient Iberia in Caucasus and their language is still related to some languages spoken in Georgia.

Farnavaz himself, being the king and a native Georgian speaker, could possibly have made some of the letters himself, or altered some of them to suit his fancy.
I mean, it would make sense in Western Europe, where the kings and nobles were quite often illiterate, due to barbarian invasions (many of the royalty were barbarians, such as Goths, Franks, etc.) and writing was the job of the royal scribes, who were very often monks and priests.
King Farnavaz ruled the country of Iberia from 302-237 to BC.
