The Farnborough Airshow has its origins in the annual RAF Airshow at Hendon (1920–1937) and the SBAC (established 1916).
It is currently held at Farnborough Airfield near Farnborough, Hampshire in England at the end of July in every even numbered year, alternating with the Paris Air Show and is therefore held in the same years as the Berlin Air Show (ILA).
Farnborough International is a commercial air show, organised by the British aerospace industry's body the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) whose main purpose is to demonstrate civilian and particularly military aircraft to potential customers.

The Farnborough International Air Show is held every two years.
The S.B.A.C. The show is sponsored by the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) and is the largest aviation industry gathering of its kind in the U.K. SBAC has predicted that 130,000 trade visitors will attend from Monday thru Friday and an additional 160,000 public visitors will attend on Saturday and Sunday.

However, the concept fired Peebles’ imagination some seven years ago and since then experiments with radio-controlled models and UAV prototypes have brought development to the point that the FanWing is ready for commercial exploitation.
The new design works by using a cross-flow fan along the leading edge of each wing to pull in air at the front and accelerate it over the trailing edge of the wing.

Most manufacturers tend to pull their aircraft out prior to the public days even though they are supposed to stay til the event closes.
By the way disregard Gulf4uk's remarks about the navigational abilities of USAF pilots; the reason for the B52 missing Farnborough was totally different (and quite simple) and was easily remedied.
