Farranfore (An Fearann Fuar in Irish, meaning "the cold land") is a village in County Kerry, Ireland.
Farranfore is notable in particular for its small airport, known as Kerry Airport.
Farranfore came into existence as a turnpike; a gate at the cross-roads in the village marked the boundary of the lands of the Earls of Kenmare.

This is a 11km dual carriageway road built to Motorway standards that connects with the N25 Cork South Ring Road.
3 major projects in planning for the N22 are the Ballyvourney - Macroom bypass, the Killarney - Farranfore scheme and the Tralee Eastern bypass with a spur to Ballingrelagh.
It is famous for 'The Sculpture Road to Killarney' where the internationally respected sculptor, Tighe O'Donoghue/Ross and his son, Eoghan, were commissioned to place sculpted stones along the new part of the road between Killarney and the county bounds to Cork.

In the course of the search a list of names was found which at the time it was believed had relation to an illegal organisation engaged in procuring firearms for unlawful purposes and the list was accordingly taken for examination.

Ryanair has switched its weekday Frankfurt service to Farranfore in Kerry, amid a dispute with Aer Rianta over passenger charges to become effective on the expiration of a three-year no-charge deal at Shannon.
Even bodies such as Shannon Development, who have welcomed the continued daily service to the region, admit that the Ryanair move is a blow to tourism in Limerick.
The new head of Limerick Chamber of Commerce, John Rice, said that the move could not have happened at a worse time, following two years of loss of tourism revenue brought about by the foot and mouth outbreaks and the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist outrages.

I will be forever grateful to the Kerry farmer and the small herd of cows he chose to move across the road on the far side of Farranfore on a Sunday morning.
The girl in the shop kindly rang a cab for me and told me my only hope was to catch the bus in Farranfore, if it had a stop there, otherwise I would be missing my flight to London and quite possibly my flight to Melbourne.
That is how close we were) and a few turns on two wheels, we reached Farranfore and caught sight of the bus.

The men s race resulted in another good victory for John Barrett (Desmond Currans) ith Robert Purcell of the same club second and John Herlihy (Riocht) third.
