Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School is a public secondary school (grades 9-12) located in the Kalihi district of Honolulu on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.
Farrington is an urban high school that serves an ethnically diverse community of mostly lower socio-economic families and a smaller number of middle-class families.
Farrington's athletic teams, the Governors, compete in the Oahu Interscholastic Association (OIA) and the Hawaii High School Athletic Association (HHSAA); and were members of the old Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH).

Currently, the Teacher Academy being implemented at Marianas High School in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), with an emerging partnership with the Northern Marianas College of Education on the mentoring of students in the program, is yet another expression of interest in the academy concept in the Pacific region.
School involvement on the part of the parents and on the part of the community at large is demonstrated by WEHEO’s “Hanai a class.” (Hanai is the Hawaiian term for adoption.) Eight agency volunteers, along with eight parents have adopted a fourth grade class.
The tutors were able to maintain good grades in high school while they worked in the program, and although several of them already had some college plans, they gained more confidence in their ability to attend and succeed in college.

Farrington was named grand prize winner in the high school competition, and Kaimuki Middle School won the middle school competition.
The theme for middle school participants was "Water for People -- Waterfor Life -- Water for Our Future"; and for high school, "Is Our Water Running Out?" Members of the community, including State Sen. Norman Sakamoto, chair of the Senate's Education Committee, judged the magazine and e-zine entries on the themes.

Neal Okabayashi, of the Hawaii Chapter of the Stanford Alumni Association, said 30 to 40 Hawaii high school graduates are accepted by Stanford each year.

In the fall of 1888 it was built on the current Farrington High School campus on King Street.
Kamehameha Preparatory School remained open until the development of the State Department of Public Instruction, low enrollment and the effects of the Depression closed the school in 1932.
