"Fatal Attraction" is a spellbinding psychological thriller that could have been a great movie if the filmmakers had not thrown character and plausibility to the winds in the last minutes to give us their version of a grown-up "Friday the 13th."
The early and middle passages of the movie are handled with convincing psychological realism; James Dearden's dialogue sounds absolutely right, especially the way he allows the Close character to bait her hook with honeyed come-ons and then set it with jealousy, possessiveness and finally guilt (after she says, inevitably, that she is pregnant).
"Fatal Attraction" was produced by Stanley R. Jaffe and Sherry Lansing, and it seems to repeat a pattern for them.

Fatal Attraction is the movie that made it very clear to the viewing public that extra-marital affairs are like walking barefoot on a hot path of sharp nails.
Adrian Lyne is outstanding at the helm of Fatal Attraction.
Often remembered for the counter-top love-making scene, Fatal Attraction does develop sexual steam, but the thriller instincts are what carry the film, and they are mostly on target.

What she doesn’t capture is how stunningly banal and dull “Fatal Attraction” really is. Infidelity is one of the most intriguing, lurid, and juicy subjects for a movie.
“Fatal Attraction” is to “forbidden romance thrillers” what watching someone playing “Battlefield 1942” is to a real war movie: we see people going through motions but we have no idea why.
“Fatal Attraction” doesn’t even appear to be conscious: we get little to no access to what anyone thinks about anything, except some of Close’s crazy ranting, which is so transparent and phony that it’s meaningless.

However, with all that it has going for it, Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy’s secret weapon turns out to be none other than 1980s pop movie icon Corey Feldman, who looks like he’s having the time of his life in the lead role.
By the way, for anyone who doesn’t know the basic story of Fatal Attraction: a successful corporate lawyer cheats on his doting, perfect wife with an über-businesswoman who happens to be mentally unstable, and turns his life upside down as she begins to stalk him and harass his family.
But let's be real: "Fatal Attraction" was trash in the first place, so it's hard to be even the tiniest bit profound about its excesses.

JoBlo reviews the movie "Fatal Attraction"
FATAL ATTRACTION was the film that scared the shit out of every philandering husband at the time of its release, and its success was the basis for several copycat thrillers that never once amounted to the actual intensity of this big hit.
My feelings are that although Fatal Attraction was an amazing thriller, this film was exceedingly misogynistic.
Fatal Attraction is a wonderful thriller that will leave you spine tingling all over.

Fatal Attraction was the most controversial hit of 1987, a film nominated for six Oscars that launched a whole up-market psycho sub-genre.
Even so, Fatal Attraction is still a film worth seeing again, even if it's hard to wonder what all the fuss was about in 1987.
Fatal Attraction is a must see for all romance-psycho movie lovers.

Condemned by feminist groups upon its release, Fatal Attraction actually delivers a severe indictment of men: for their selfish sexual exploitation of women, their ignorant emotional neglect of their wives and children, and their emasculated detachment from their duty to protect.
While his film indulges in dollops of sensationally explicit sex and violence, Lyne's vision, in the end, reinforces the idea of family as a strong and valuable unit whose survival is worth fighting for.
As adultery films go, Fatal Attraction would make for a provocative night of cinema preceded by the low-key hand-wringing of Ulu Grosbard's Falling in Love and followed by Stanley Kubrick's haunting, underrated Eyes Wide Shut, a triple feature sure to set most potential philanderers back onto the path of duty.

Developments in weapons technology make it possible, in theory, for an entire war to be fought and won in the 21st century without anyone being killed.
But in practice, according to Bradford's Nick Lewer and Steven Schofield, the non-lethal weapons (NLWs) developed over the past 30 years are just as likely to be deployed to overpower resistance, clearing the way for attack by conventional means.
They argued that while NLW technology may well have a constructive part to play in "benign intervention" scenarios, such as UN peacebuilding operations, there is an urgent need for public awareness and political debate to determine proper ground rules for their use.

 Fatal Attraction Murder
The parallel that reporters drew between the murder of Betty Jeanne Solomon and the "Fatal Attraction" film was hard to resist, because the police and the prosecution shaped the image of blonde Carolyn Warmus as a woman obsessed with her former lover, Paul Solomon, who had wanted the freedom to move on to other infidelities.
Six months later, however, the indictment was dismissed by Judge John Carey, on the ground that the state had not disclosed to the grand jury the fact that Vincent Parco had been granted immunity from prosecution in exchange for his agreement to testify about his sale of the pistol to Warmus.
The prosecutors promptly obtained a fresh indictment, and the widely heralded "Fatal Attraction" trial of Carolyn Warmus opened on Thursday, February 14, 1991, in Westchester County Courthouse, where headmistress Jean S. Harris of Madeira School had been convicted of murdering Dr. Herman Tarnower a decade earlier.
