		Fatal Fury had been in development at SNK since 1990, around the same time (some claim even before) Street Fighter II's development (both were released in 1991).
		The tournament in Fatal Fury is to determine the "King of Fighters." Apparently, this concept stuck with SNK...
		Fatal Fury was the first game to have two planes of battle (which ended up disappearing from the series).

		Having watched both Fatal Fury 2 and Fatal Fury 3 at one go, I felt rather relieved that Fatal Fury 3, unlike its predecessor, did not fall into the trap of becoming a Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie clone.

		Fear not; Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture neatly completes this sort-of-trilogy, but knowledge of those or the video game is not a prerequisite to enjoying the movie--it stands quite well on its own.
		But this is a movie, not to mention the final animated Fatal Fury incarnation, so there was an opportunity to do something brave and break the cliche.

		Coming in the same year as Fatal Fury 3, I was expecting this to be just another fairly typical update to that game, but I was wrong (well, kind of).
		As in Fatal Fury 3 there are 3 planes of movement, the middle one is used for the fighting itself while you can dodge into the top and bottom for a few seconds to launch an attack towards the other fighter from them.
		In fact, Real Bout Fatal Fury works in a similar way to the King of Fighters series, and you have to fight three people before you can move onto the next area (although you only get to pick one fighter).

	AAW: Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf Review
		Although I wouldn't highly recommend Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf, if you're a fan of the video game or just like martial arts action flicks, you'll probably enjoy it, and if you follow through with the rest of the series it does get much better.
		Note that the Fatal Fury series is essentially a trilogy with an ongoing story; Legend of the Hungry Wolf starts it, is followed by The New Battle, and the story is wrapped up by The Motion Picture.

		One interesting thing to bear in mind though is that this game was supposedly in development at the same time as the aforementioned game (although it was released later on), so it actually wasn't the "SFII" clone many people thought it was.
		Fatal Fury was also the first one on one beat ‘em up to let you move between two planes of battle (you can dodge up and down).
		Although when I was back in school I used to pump credits into this machine like crazy, things have obviously moved on and Fatal Fury looks more than average now.

		Fatal Fury feels like a cross between an Indiana Jones film and a WWE tag-team match, and is sure to delight adolescent boys.
		I really liked FATAL FURY the MOTION PICTURE and for me personally, it was the end complete to the series (FATAL FURY, Legend of the Hungry Wolf and FATAL FURY 2).
		I've never been a fan of SNK video games honestly, but I really liked this, so this proves you don't need to be a fan of the Fatal Fury, King of Fighters, or any of the other SNK games to enjoy this.

		While often thought of as a rip-off of Capcom's Streetfighter 2, SNK's Fatal Fury was actually in development at the same time, and was simply released amongst the waves of SF2-clones, including some by SNK.
		The game wasn't terrible, and had decent ports to both the Sega Genesis/Megadrive and the Super Nintendo, but I have to admit that I was slightly taken aback when I discovered that the game had proven successful to not only warrant a sequel, but an entire series, and spin-off.
		Fatal Fury 2 was basically a Streetfighter 2 rip-off.
