In the general group (girls), Bibi Sahra of Government Girls High School Fateh Jang stood first by bagging 709 marks.
Maryam Rehman of Government Girls High School Khayaban-i-Sir Syed and Shafaq Tehreem of Fauji Foundation Model Secondary School for Girls, Matore, took second and third position by achieving 703 and 702 marks respectively.
In science group (boys), the top three positions were obtained by Cadet College Hassanabdal.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Q party named Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as caretaker prime minister until Aziz could be formally sworn into the lower house.

Aziz, a former City Bank executive from New York, was getting into his car after addressing an election rally at Fateh Jang, a town near Islamabad, when two bombs exploded.
Pakistan's military ruler, President Pervez Musharraf, who also has survived several attempts on life, has encouraged Aziz to run for the prime minister's position after forcing the former prime minister, Zafarullah Jamali, to resign.

ISLAMABAD, June 16 (SANA): Former Pakistan Army Chief General Mirza Aslam Beg has confirmed the Information Minister, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad did run a training camp for Kashmiri militants at his Fateh Jang road farm house.
Beg said the camp named "freedom house" was located some 16 kilometers from Islamabad.
However, Gen Beg said Malik’s statement would not let Indian government justify its claims about presence of training camps in Pakistan.

One of the rare sights at the airport was the arrival of the Antonov An-225 Mriya that landed at the airport after a flight from Canada and Europe.
The airport is actually located outside of Islamabad, closer to the city of Rawalpindi, in an area known as Chaklala.
