 Fear Of Dolls
Fear of Dolls is at its best on "Fragile Toy", where a rolling drum pattern, chanted vocals, and a subtle, sweeping atmosphere take on a ritualistic guise, fluidly hypnotic and playfully suspenseful, like the seemingly placid opening sequences of a horror movie, prior to that inevitable moment when the antagonist hits the stage.
Fear Of Dolls is an American band based in Seattle consisting of four members and "When The Organ..." is their first release, following some compilations contributions.
Songs from this Seattle band sound like chapters from a Grimm Brothers' anthology set to music, and their mesmerizing nursery rhymes are an engaging mix of tribal undertones, chants, creep-show loops, and quivering trance.

Fear Factory -Archetype -Liquid 8 Records - CD
Simply put: Archetype, thrash/death metal band Fear Factory’s fifth LP since their debut in 1992 and first on new label Liquid 8 feels more like the natural successor to 1995’s Demanufacture than the actual successor did.
Since ’95 and prior to Archetype, the band had released a remix album, Remanufacture, and two LPs, Obsolete (1998) and Digimortal (2001) (there were also a pair of cash grab/contract breakers courtesy former label Roadrunner Records but we’ll just ignore those, mmkay?).
Herrera’s double-bass is once again certifiably wicked, Bell’s growls are meaty and his cleans have broke from their droning, almost novelty-like quality to take on a far more important role in the band’s dynamic and all my bitching about Wolbers jumping into the guitar role was for naught as he simply doesn’t miss a beat.

Fear's two LPs should be all the proof needed that this band was not as moronic as their pose.
The evidence available from the new Fear record, Have Another Beer With Fear, is that the new blood has indeed made the band potent again, resulting in their strongest work since the first Fear LP (even though the best Fear on record would doubtlessly be their cuts on the Decline soundtrack).

Fear would be attacked as all that was wrong with music and had gone back to playing gigs and ticking off the stupid punks that came to the shows.
After receiving numerous warnings to watch their ass because it was live, Fear played a sloppy, drunken set of blistering punk songs (mostly from the first album), told lame jokes, ragged on audience members and finished off with a smoking hot, and completely unedited, version of the 44 second yuletide classic "Fuck Christmas".

I have read a number of reviews slamming Primal Fear for "lack of originality." Yes, the vocals are similar to Rob Halford, yes the riffs are typical German power metal, and yes the drums stick to double bass for the most part.
I don't think it was the bands intent to explore and experiment with their sound, but rather what they wanted was to deliver another full throttle, heavy metal platter, and that is exactly what they did.
