Fear Factory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fear Factory is an American industrial metal/death metal band that has toured with Black Sabbath, Pantera, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Dream Theater and Rammstein; performed at three Ozzfests and the inaugural Gigantour; and had singles in the Mainstream Rock Top 40 and albums in the Billboard top 40, 100 and 200.
Fear Factory was formed under the name Ulceration in 1989 in Los Angeles, California by ex-guitarist Dino Cazares and drummer Raymond Herrera.

Fear Factory - Satan Stole My Teddybear
Fear Factory's precision (the aspect that tags them with the "industrial-metal" label on occasion) as well as Burton C. Bell's strong vocals were compelling enough for me to find their second release, Demanufacture, which in retrospect turns out to be the band's ultimate statement to date.
The two most noteworthy aspects to the Fear Factory puzzle are the aforementioned vocals of Burton C Bell, who has the ability to roar as well as utilize a clean, Ozzy-tinged voice (though occasionally he wanders off key), and the extremely impressive drumming of Raymond Herrera.
The members of Fear Factory never were great songwriters; to accommodate for their deficiencies, they relied heavily on sound and fury to carry their previous efforts.

Fear of Rejection: This is one of the least rational fears that a lifter indulges himself in.
Fear of Re-injury: This is another tough one that many lifters face at some point in their career, and something that I am still somewhat dealing with now.

Fear is the Mindkiller sounds more like a Frontline Assembly album than Fear Factory.
'Fear is the Mindkiller' is what I associate with Fear Factory, pummeling riffs, the growling death vocals (you heard me, death vocals), the killer sampling, and the throbbing guitars.
About the EP: "Fear is the Mindkiller" really complements your experience of their first album "Soul of a New Machine." My favorite track is #4: The steam whistles blowing its mournful exhaust, the angst-filled drilling noises, and ominous clanking of pipes all against the backdrop of a danceclub-like beat truly expands one's horizons for metal.
