		SpongeBob is one cartoon in a long line of shows to put in more "adult" references, and has become so popular with the adult crowd that it has been shown on MTV and Spike TV.
		Spongebob is sometimes portrayed for brief moments in women's clothing, (in three episodes), often cited by people as evidence to support the controversy, however it should be noted that SpongeBob is one of many other famous cartoon and slapstick characters, including the mega-popular classic Bugs Bunny to have gone above the limits and endure controversy.
