Rough Edge: Dark Tranquillity CD Reviews
This song shows Dark Tranquillity digging deeper into their dark, melancholy past with the same kind of angered focus that marked 2002's stellar release “Damage Done.” The track is jam packed with riffs, stylistic twists, and has an epic feel without losing its aggressive center.
For the most part this track does sound like a remix, but what it does is reinforce the notion that Dark Tranquillity have in the midst a person who could create alternate versions of their albums in the vein that Fear Factory did with “Remanufacture” and “Fear Is The Mindkiller” remix albums.
Dark Tranquillity, along with In Flames, are bringing a whole new meaning to the term nu-metal, using no rap but employing modern sounds mixed in with classic influences and thus creating a whole new sound which others will emulate.

Fear Factory: Resurrection - Seconds: Perfect Moments In Pop - Stylus Magazine
It’s not that often that bands as dark as Fear Factory offer chinks of sunlight through their morose and oppressive perspective of man’s inhumanity to man. “Resurrection” is an example of Metal which refuses to plough its relentless furrow and instead offers a message of hope.
Along with Bell’s roaring, this lifts the song out of its headlong, heads-down focus on being fucking metal (as great as that is) and gives it wings, to use a popular advertising phrase.
But at the song’s crescendo a small string section (violins, violas and cellos, I assume) sheens out of the mix (5.23) cutting through the onslaught of riffage and the pounding ‘here comes the finale’ drums.

The Babylon Whores were formed in Helsinki, Finland in 1994, but it wasn't until 1999's King Fear that they finally got an album out in the U.S. It's regrettable that it took so long, for you're unlikely to find a more compelling fusion of alternative metal and goth rock than this CD.
While the sinister imagery that the Whores employ brings Bauhaus to mind, the Whores are much more metallic and forceful.

RollingStone.com: (What's The Story) Morning Glory? : Oasis : Review
Two tracks are followed by brief, dark, druggy instrumental interludes reminiscent of the end of "Strawberry Fields Forever"; "Wonderwall" borrows its title from a George Harrison solo album; and "Morning Glory" cheekily drops a Beatles song title in the line, "Tomorrow never knows what it doesn't know too soon."
It's no secret that tension and instability have been inherent traits of great rock teams, going as far back as Jagger and Richards, but for Oasis, the addition of shared genes gives their songs extra impact and dimension.
Yesterday, Noel Gallagher's troubles may have seemed so far away, but today Oasis are grappling with success and fear in a way that gives their glorious pop new potency.
