The feasting began with Gary Hoyer’s seductive Amuse Gueule: a grilled shiitake mushroom cap, topped with a bit of sweet and sour plum confit, sandwiched inside a warm corn and sage biscuit.

Teams were clustered on a long playing field adjacent to a pleasantly treed area with picnic tables where the public ate and socialized.
Each booth was decorated individually by its team and the combination of the incredible food and beautiful, harvest inspired décor made it difficult for the public to choose the best booth on the ballots they received with the event program.
But the 2005 Feast of Fields could never have been so successful without the enthusiastic participation of the chefs, farmers, and nearly two dozen volunteers who worked in advance of the event or on the day itself to make it all come together with style and grace.
