  Federation and Empire
Federation and Empire is a strategic-level wargame set in the Star Fleet Universe, published by Amarillo Design Bureau Inc. It is designed as a stand-alone product but can be considered the official campaign generator for Star Fleet Battles.
The main focus of the game is the General War, and each player takes control of the resources and armed forces of a respective stellar empire, or allied group of empires, such as the Coalition or the Alliance, playing on a map of the region of space where the General War was fought.
Federation and Empire Deluxe Edition was published in 1993 by TFG with the massively updated and expanded Rev-3 rulebook, a nicer-looking map and a new set of counters.

Empire - LoveToKnow 1911   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-16)
But when he died in 323, his empire, which had barely lasted ten years, died with him; and it was divided among Diadochi who, if in some other respects (for instance, the Hellenization of the East) they were heirs of their master's policy, were destitute of the imperial conception.
To the popes the Empire was a solemn office, to which the kings of the Franks might most naturally be called, in view of their power and the traditions of their house, but which by no means remained in their hands as a personal property.
It was not an empire resting on force, a military empire; it was not, as in modern times empires have sometimes been, an autocracy warranted and stamped by the plebiscite of the mob.

Empire of the Ants for PC video game review and cheats
Strategy First’s Empire of the Ants, based on the best-selling novel of the same name written by Bernard Werber, takes you into the undergrowth of the frantic world of colonization and dominance within the insect kingdom.
With their own insectoid technology they have built an empire that is vast and as advanced in many ways as human civilization.
Empire of the Ants had a lot of promise but unfortunately failed to live up to much of it.

Federation and Empire - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki
Federation and Empire is a strategic-level board game first published in 1986 by the now-defunct Task Force Games.
It is based on the same source material as Task Force Games' previous strategic game Federation Space and the two games are more appropriately "brothers" than "father and son" although Federation and Empire is a vastly superior product.
The game involves running the economy and combat forces of seven intergalactic empires; the Federation, the Klingons, the Romulans, the Gorn, the Kzinti, the Lyrans and the Hydrans, through an eighteen-year conflict known as the General War which takes place starting 168 years after the founding of the Federation.

Empire State Federation of Women's Clubs
The girls' clubs were affiliated with the Empire State Federation of Girls' Clubs, which was established in 1933 and met during the ESFWC's annual conventions.
In the 1960's, the ESFWC began assisting in the organizing of boys' clubs, and in late 1987 or early 1988 the Empire State Federation of Girls' Clubs became the Empire State Federation of Youth Clubs.
Unfortunately, materials documenting the ESFWC's reaction to and support for the upsurge of African-American activism in the 1960's are scarce; the meeting minutes from 1964-68 are missing, and the surviving documents created in the 1960's and early 1970's typically concern internal administrative affairs.

Tinubu's point is that although Nigeria is a federation in name, the laws that govern its resource ownership and distribution are analogous to those of medieval empires.
In contract, a federal arrangement such as Nigeria settled for at independence in 1960, is one in which the bulk of revenue derived from resources belongs to the area which hosts the resources.
It is federalism that has enabled the United States to tap the geniuses of its multiple nations and racial groupings to maintain its leadership position in the world.

Frontier First Encounters: Alliance Joint Navy - History
As 3260 drew to a close, the Federation and Empire were once again rattling their respective sabres, with the AIS looking on, largely disinterested.
However, the Federation leadership was not particularly reassuring to the AIS since the Federation believed that the invasion of Veliaze was not to stage an invasion of the AIS, but to provide a two-pronged invasion of Federation space.
The Federation were clearly going to be no help in the immediate future, and although Alliance leaders largely expected the Federation to join the fight if an Imperial onslaught began, by this time it would be too late and much of what the Alliance had worked for would be destroyed.

Despite the constant lip-service of the Federation Founders, the TF, especially in the member backworlds, is not without its social problems, prejudices, and specieism, stemming in large degree from a disproportionate number of H. sapiens supremacists and anthropist extreme groups among their minorities.
