Pololu 3-Amp Motor Controller with Feedback
With the two feedback alternatives, various simple devices such as potentiometers can be used as sensors to achieve position or speed control.
A feedback potentiometer is coupled to the mechanism output, and the user can then send position commands to the motor controller, which automatically drives the motor to reach the position.
The motor controller serial protocol is compatible with other Pololu motion control devices, allowing multiple units to be connected to a single serial line to control a mixture of motors sizes and hobby RC servos.

Controller (control theory) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This controller relies on measuring the controlled variable, in this case the temperature of the house, and then adjusting the output, whether or not the heater is on.
However, feedback control usually results in intermediate periods where the controlled variable is not at the desired setpoint.
Alternates to proportional control are proportional-integral (PI) control and proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control.

Technical Approach   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Feedback F0 is sent to the controller which computes a control action C1 that is immediately sent back to the actuator.
Since no feedback is received by the controller, no control action is sent and whatever strategy for lost packets is implemented occurs at the actuator (0 control, zero order hold, etc.) Synchronization is maintained since the actuator counter automatically sends another feedback to to controller at the next sampling instant.
From this data, that Controller calculates the corresponding velocities which are used in the state feedback control.

A control system was designed to control the ankle joint torque in accordance with the desired reference through stimulation of ankle plantarflexor and dorsiflexor muscle groups.
The control system for each muscle group consists of a gain scheduled feedforward controller, based on a set of four local models, and a discrete sliding mode feedback controller, optimized for the model with the fastest response, which guaranties the robustness and good tracking performance of the system.
However, the effectiveness of the feedback control system is severely hindered by delays inherent in the stimulation control system and slow response properties of the muscles.

A Crash Course in Feedback Control
This set of lectures is an introduction to the principles of feedback control and its applications amenable to traditional and non-traditional audiences.
The material is based on fundamental concepts in dynamical systems, modeling, stability analysis, robustness to uncertainty, feedback as it occurs naturally, and the design of feedback control laws to engineer desirable static and dynamic response.
As we explained in the previous lecture, feedback control can be used to shape the equilibria of the system, and also to stabilize them.

Control engineering provides a case history of the problems that may arise in switching from practical knowledge to highly principled deep knowledge requiring system information that is unavailable.
The problem was that the optimum control strategy was highly sensitive to the accuracy of the model of the plant being controlled and this model had to be identified from limited information flows through sensors subject to inaccuracy and noise.

This patented process provides the single most effective means of dealing with audio feedback, with the least number of tradeoffs, that current technology allows.

Digital Controllers Inside Analog Feedback Loops
If you are willing and able to build your controller in analog form, your design work is finished when you have a transfer function C(s) that causes the closed-loop system to meet these and any other additional specifications.
No digital controller can be implemented without a sample and hold,  so it’s critical to understand what a sample and hold does to a feedback control system and how it changes the procedure we use for analysis.
A digital controller within an analog feedback loop must have a sample and hold, along with A/D and D/A converters upstream and downstream respectively from the digital part of the system.

Cell loss rate due to the congestion shows a two to five times improvement compared with the static approach, while transmission delays introduced by our ANN controller are also smaller than in the static approach.
