Topic: The Feederz

In the News (Wed 15 Feb 12)

The Feederz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Feederz is a punk band from Arizona.
The Feederz have strong situationist tendencies, and occasionally verge into anarchism; their songs are highly critical of government, consumerism, and religion.
The Feederz reformed in 2002 and released Vandalism: Beautiful as a Rock in a Cop's Face.

Strange Reaction » Feederz   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-11)
The Feederz regrouped and reissued in 2002 with Frank Discussion at the helm, still as weird as ever.
I thought he was wearing a clear shower curtain he was naked under it and then he started picking the roaches off of his bald that were glued with wiggling feet up and throwing them into the crowd.
The first time I ever experienced the Feederz was seeing a photo of Frank Discussion with a dead rat hanging out of his mouth — the cover of the Jesus EP, if I am not mistaken.

Naturally, Discussion relocated to San Francisco, where the Feederz made headlines again when the singer performed at Gilman Street with live crickets glued to his head and a dead cat and dog strung around his neck.
From the level of disgust aimed at corporate punk rock and delusional left-wing do-gooders in the new liner notes, it's not surprising that Discussion also has a fresh batch of rancor planned for release in the fall.
To tide you over until then, the Feederz will demonstrate what a punk rock show is really all about on Thursday, June 13, at the Justice League with Songs for Emma and the Tramps opening at 9:30 p.m.

is this the real life - an introduction to the situationist international - page 2   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-11)
A case in point is the band the Feederz, who proclaim with great self-satisfaction that "the situationists were a big influence on us," despite the fact that the Feederz have done violence to the integrity of the situationists' theory by turning it into an ideology, into situationism.
An objection might very well be made that the writing and publication of this article will encourage spectacular, imbecilic (a la the Feederz) or otherwise inappropriate uses of the situationists' theses and example.
My hope is that by intentionally nourishing these inappropriate uses of the SI, I will thus dialectically create the possibility of better uses of it.

The Feederz deliver with their unique blend of rage, unmatched intensity and biting humor.
There's something on this disk for ANYONE to be offended by, not because The Feederz are dumb shock rock, but because they're honest about the way in which they see the disgusting state of modern humanity.
Musically, the Feederz sound alot like the Dead Kennedys, but arent some cheap rip off, they have a distinct style that belongs to them alone.

Cosmik Debris Magazine Presents: The Feederz, January 2003
Like many people, my first introduction to the Feederz was through the seminal Alternative Tentacles compilation Let Them Eat Jellybeans (1981), where their widely-offendable contribution, "Jesus Entering Through the Rear," became a favorite part of the soundtrack of my youth.
So it was with great joy that I received in the mail, all these years later, not just the new Feederz album - Vandalism - Beautiful as a Rock in a Cop's Face - but reissues of those first two albums - Ever Feel Like...
When the first album came out, the big worry was people recording onto blank cassettes.

Apart from the Pistols, the Feederz were the only band I knew of with any direct Situationist connections.
While other punk bands from the same generation wrote songs about Reagan, Nicaragua and nuclear war, Feederz encouraged their fans to torch factories, steal everything and castrate bankers.
Frank Discussion, the Feederz frontman and braintrust, has a harsh and nasal voice that has been compared to Jello Biafra’s more than once (though I find it much more grating).

 TrouserPress.com :: Feederz
In the fine tradition of pre-grunge Northwest punk bands, Feederz made an art of being irritating and abrasive.
Their lyrics are fairly offensive, their album cover has a piece of sandpaper on each side, and the insert offers such words of wisdom as “Don’t say ‘yes teacher’ — say Jam it bitch!” and “time to destroy.” But thanks to tuneful songs and a sense of humor, Ever Feel Like Killing Your Boss?
Hardcore bands make this stuff seem a bit dated, but the Feederz — like Flipper — occupy that half-joke/half-art territory with old-fashioned punk dignity.

 Rough Guides Music: THE FEEDERZ
One of the most notorious punk bands to come from the American hardcore punk scene, The Feederz formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1977.
Starting with their first performance when guitarist Frank Discussion opened fire on the audience with an assault rifle (fortunately it was loaded with blanks), The Feederz were known to use outrageous provocations to underscore their music.
The Feederz lineup at the time consisted of Art Nouveau on drums (now dead), Clear Bob on bass, with Frank on guitar and lead vocals.

Before writing "An Introduction to the Situationist International," I sent a postcard to the FEEDERZ informing them that "any contributions on your part would be greatly appreciated." Frank Discussion, in his letter to me (MRR#21), claims it arrived "two days" before the deadline, meaning Oct. 13.
