Feldberg Gives 'State of School' Talk at Meeting   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-09)
Feldberg began by discussing admissions, noting that despite a highly competitive environment for a declining number of candidates, applications at the Business School were up 43 percent in the past three years.
Feldberg said that the remaining $18 million will be raised by the end of 1995, enabling the School to successfully conclude the effort on schedule.
Feldberg noted that this year consulting firms were making record numbers of offers, with record salaries, and that large corporations such as IBM and ATandT, as well as retailers, were increasingly visible.

 Lost Generation - BCM - Winter 2003
Feldberg, who managed his family’s business in men’s clothing in the Baltic port of Stettin (now Szczecin, in Poland), originally began his collection with the eccentric notion of trading coats and suits from the business to struggling artists in Berlin in exchange for their self-portraits.
Siegbert Feldberg, as a friend and patron of artists, was very close to this bohemian world, and yet, as his portrait suggests, and as his granddaughter confirms, he could not have been fully a part of it.
Feldberg’s collection is a hall of tilted mirrors, a gallery of distorted reflections, a chamber of unbalanced selves, from a historical moment of tremendous artistic energy and profound social crisis.

Feldberg says that while under 40% of entering students say they'll concentrate in finance, over half of this year's graduating class has taken jobs in the area.

Feldberg admits that he spends less time at Uris Hall than he did in the early 1990s, when he sat in the school's deli with his bagel and heard a litany of student complaints.

Much more interesting is the telecommunication tower on the Grosser Feldberg, which is a mixture of multistoried building and telecommunication tower and from unconventional design.
This tower was built in 1937 as 53 meters high reinforced concrete construction with an upper section built of wood and which should serve after 1939 as television tower for the Rhine Main area, but because World War II it was transfered into a radar station.

 Rebecca Feldberg
When the Arlington Parks Department created the position Feldberg now holds, they were looking for someone who could "get the parks department thinking more environmentally." Although her experience and interests made her a great candidate for the job, she acknowledges that accepting a new position in a well-established system proved challenging.
One example--"When I started here five years ago," Feldberg explains, "they were raking every single leaf out of the parks, depleting the soil and causing extreme erosion." To compensate, the county trucked in tons of mulch, laying it on these high-use areas, creating both a "clean and tidy" look and a less slippery surface.
Although she fights other invasives, including porcelain berry, in a recent Washington Post article Feldberg identified English ivy as "the major threat to the natural landscape in Arlington's parks, yards, and public places." The situation is so severe, the county has applied for a federal grant to fund an invasive plant coordinator.
