Felix Grundy, congressman, U.S. senator, and Democratic leader, was born in Virginia but first rose to prominence in Kentucky politics.
In 1806 Grundy was elevated to a seat on the Supreme Court of Errors and Appeals; soon afterward, at age twenty-nine, he became the state's chief justice.
Grundy strongly defended Jackson's "war" against the Bank of the United States, and by 1834 he was widely recognized, with James K. Polk, as a leader of Tennessee's Democratic Party.

Felix Grundy, the 19th Century statesman after which Grundy County is named, was one of the greatest criminal lawyers of his time.
While residing in Springfield, Felix Grundy married Ann Phillips Rodgers, a second cousin of John C. Calhoun, who was to become the seventh vice president of the United States.
On March 16, 1826, Grundy appeared in Judge Samuel Robert's court at Edwardsville, IL, to defend one P.H. Winchester for the murder of Daniel Smith, the recorder of Pike County.

GRUNDY, Felix, statesman, born in Berkeley county, Virginia, 11 September, 1777; died in Nashville, Tennessee, 19 December, 1840.
He introduced a bill to establish the circuit court system, which was passed over the governor's veto, and in 1802 had a debate with Henry Clay, then as little known as himself, on banks and banking, in which was foreshadowed the future course of both in national politics.
In 1806 Grundy was appointed a judge of the supreme court of errors and appeals, and in March, 1807, he became chief justice.

In October 1864, Union raiders under Brigadier General Stephen G. Burbridge passed through Grundy on their way to destroy the saltworks near Saltville in Smyth County, where they were met by Confederate troops commanded by Brigadier General Alfred E. Jackson at the Battle of Saltville.
Grundy is home to the Appalachian School of Law, organized in 1994 and opened in 1997, as well as the University of Appalachia College of Pharmacy which opened in August of 2005.

She has two sons the correct age to be Felix (the other is believed by many, including me, to be son D. These two sons are not in Mo. in 1850, but all the other children are in Perry Co. As I recall, Patsy remarried, but died soon thereafter.
Concerning James Grundy Felix Eddlemon, He was married to Magaret J. Dunn, 1842, MO. I don't have any more information on this marriage.
