Fellowship of the Rosy Cross - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Order of the Rosy Cross, or Rosicrucians, is a worldwide esoteric society and fraternity officially called the Ancient Mystic Order of Rosae Crucis (AMORC), whose official emblem is a cross with a single rose in the center.
Despite arousing enthusiasm in the expanding occult community, no later records exist for membership of the Order.
In the eighteenth century various tracts and manifestoes were published asserting the existence of the Brothers of the Rosy Cross, and several groups claiming Rosicrucian origins were active in Russia, Poland, and Germany.

Two of the officials at the Templar initiation ceremonies are the Sovereign Master (enthroned and wearing a crown) and the Prelate in robes and bishop’s miter.
The cross on the chest of the Death figure is made deliberately hard to see, perhaps to obscure the reference of the Templars.
In the grade of the Red Cross of Rome and Constantine (Waite “The Secret Tradition in Freemasonry” p 239), the cubic stone (i.e., the ‘perfect ashlar’ suggested in the High Priestess throne and the cubic Chariot) now becomes the Rose, seen on Death’s banner.

It almost requires a Frater Sapiens dominabitur astris in the Fellowship of the Rosy Cross to have the patience which is not lost amidst clouds of folly when the consideration of the Tarot is undertaken in accordance with the higher law of symbolism.
The triple cross is preposterous as an instance of Egyptian symbolism; it is the cross of the patriarchal see, both Greek and Latin--of Venice, of Jerusalem, for example--and it is the form of signing used to this day by the priests and laity of the Orthodox Rite.

In 1917 Charges Williams, publishers' clerk and aspiring poet, was initiated into the Fellowship of the True Rosy Cross.
The Fellowship was a mystical ritualistic group formed by A.E. Waite in 1916 out of his earlier Holy Order of the Golden Dawn, which in turn had separated from the Order of the Stella Matutina shortly after that group’s split from the Isis-Urania Temple of the Golden Dawn in 1901.
While co-inherence, and the beliefs that flowed from it, was associated with Christian doctrine in the mind of Williams, the occult influence flowing through the Fellowship of the True Rosy Cross is also apparent.

Williams spent a period of his life involved with one branch of what he personally termed the "Golden Dawn," but was technically an offshoot of that order called "The Fellowship of the Rosy Cross" founded by A. Waite.
Accounts of Charles Williams by those who knew him indicate that he was deeply intellectual, but did not possess the financial means to pursue university education.
