WEB EXCLUSIVE The Fembot Mystique - Popular Science
Fembots were a pop-culture staple long before Austin Powers battled them—witness the popularity of The Bionic Woman, The Stepford Wives and Blade Runner.
Perhaps the fembot’s allure resides in her ability to walk the line between total obedience and unfathomable power.
There were few fembots in the mid-20th century, but the desire to connect beautiful women and high-tech machines was manifest in the cheesecake pinups painted on fighter planes and the dramatic curves of 1950s roadsters.

Fembots - Austin Powers - a Wikia wiki
A Fembot (sometimes spelled Femmebot) is an alternative name for a gynoid depicted in two major productions, The Bionic Woman television series and the Austin Powers film series, which parodied the name.
Evil on his own guards, they were meant to be a lethal distraction for Austin Powers, while Dr. Evil's plans came to fruitition, their pleasing form and seductive behavior appealing to Austin's "free love" personality.
In the second film, Vanessa, Austin's Wife, reveals to be one of Dr. Evil's fembots, evidenced when she goes backwards when Austin presses the rewind button at the television.

 Fembot at AllExperts
Fembot (sometimes spelled Femmebot) is an alternative name for a gynoid, a robot designed to look like a woman.
Fembots on important missions were often remotely controlled by an operator back at the base who was able to see and hear everything through the machine.
As she sliced off the bladed end of the tail with a claw in order to convert it into a cable (a not-so-subtle visual euphamism for a penectomy, as further demonstrated by Silverbolt's wincing in pain during the action), it is arguable as to how apt the insult is.

Gynoid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the show, the fembots' primary weakness was that their default operational setting produced a unique high pitched sound that only Jaimie (with her bionic ear) could hear.
However, once the fembot's operator was aware of this, the operational 'frequency' of the fembot could be changed and the sound thus eliminated.

Third song in, The Fembots were in full-swing, playing their innovative, country-hinged soundscapes to a relaxed audience.
The Fembots launched into a slow, lazy song and the fiddle was sweet and heartbreaking, the twangy, high vocals are earnest and from the heart.
One quick glance back at the crowd of serene faces looking up to the stage confirmed that, although her folky style might not be for everyone, those who like her really seem to love her, and even the most snotty music fan would have to appreciate her charisma as a performer.

As might be expected, the Fembots, as they are known, took on the forms of every day mundane items such as spatulas, white goods and women's personal toys.
For many years, the Fembot's place was in the workplace fighting alongside the other Autobots.
Their long standing slogan "A Fembots place is in the home" became reality, and given that many are adapted for such an existence with spatula and Corvette modes of transformation, it was extremely successful.

Packed like lemmings into Bloor Street's legendary Lee's Palace, fans got to hear selections from last year's critically-acclaimed "The City," and previous discs, "Mucho Cuidado" and "Small Town Murder Scene." What they didn't realize, though, was that they had front row seats to one of the acts that is helping pilot Toronto's recent indie-music craze.
Born from the ashes of a traditional rock group that was on its last legs, the FemBots came together after MacKinnon and longtime friend, Brian Poirier, started writing music on their own.
And because it was recorded as a band, the latest live incarnation of the FemBots has been the simplest to manage.
