Political Organization in the Feminist Movement
Feminist ideology has played an insignificant role in the development of its structures and strategies, although nonfeminist ideas have been adapted from the political context in which each branch grew which have affected its organizational style.
The radical movement's concepts of participatory democracy, equality, liberty and community emphasized that everyone should participate in the decisions that affected their lives and that everyone's contributions was equally valid.
As in any group or movement there were certainly power and fame hungry individuals who found the movement an excellent opportunity for personal advancement, but in their fear of manipulation, feminists often failed to make a distinction between those who were "using" the movement and those who were "strong" women or had valuable talents.

The extent of feminist or protofeminist consciousness, by which I mean an awareness of the inequality of women and a determination to resist it, that now exists in the United States, is an accomplishment of the women’s movement.
Feminist consciousness was sustained in part, no doubt, because it was widely understood that its aims had not been achieved, and because many women who left the movement remained committed to its goals.
The movements of the sixties, despite their problems of sexism, provided a supportive environment for the development of a radical women’s consciousness and a movement that demanded women’s equality and linked it to demands for class and racial equality.

Another anarchist man, and perhaps the most influential male feminist, published his journal Lucifer, and dedicated it to the "emancipation of women from sex slavery." This meant that the feminists were simply fighting for a right in a society that could work for them, while anarcha-feminists wanted a part of a world that did not yet exist.
Mainstream feminists saw the anarchists as ideologists, mainly because the major advocates of suffrage were socially privileged and had no problem with the system they lived in.
