Ferdosi was a tall figure with a lively and optimistic nature.
The popular myths about Ferdosi agreeing to compose the Shahnameh in return for sixty thousand gold coins (Dinars) from Soltan Mahmud, as well as his visit to Mahmud’s court and defeating the court poets in a poetic contest are all false.

Ferdosi e-mailed back within the hour saying he would do his best, that he would communicate with Corporate HQ and pass on the suggestions, ideas and recommendations both Hackman and Ferdosi had agreed were needed regarding positive, factual and immediate press releases.
