Fermín Cacho - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fermín Cacho Ruiz (born February 16, 1969) is a Spanish athlete, winner of the 1500 metres at the 1992 Summer Olympics.
Cacho's first notable result came in 1990, when he finished second in the 1500 m at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
Although Cacho was the defending Olympic 1500m champion, the final in Atlanta was considered to be a match race between Morceli and Hicham El Guerrouj, who had filled the first two places at the previous year's World Championships.

The supplement also contains an article written by Fermin Cacho, 1,500 metres Olympic Champion in Barcelona ‘92, in which he stresses the high quality of the facilities that the Madrid 2012 bid proposes, especially the Olympic Village.
Cacho affirms that the Village’s privileged location will make it possible for the athletes to “have all the facilities you can imagine and the fantastic and probably unique opportunity to walk to the Olympic Stadium or Aquatic Centre”.
This twelve-page special issue is completed by a section in which the opinion about the bid is collected from some citizens of Madrid, articles about Madrid 2012 Sport Ambassadors and the numerous competitions that the city has hosted in the last four years, and a detailed analysis of the project’s solid financial model.
