Fever Pitch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A 1997 film version of Fever Pitch, with a screenplay adapted by Hornby himself, fictionalised the story, concentrating on Arsenal's First Division championship-winning season in 1988-89 and its effect on the protagonist's romantic relationship.
A 2005 film remake of Fever Pitch, directed by the Farrelly Brothers with Hornby as an executive producer, starred Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore.
This championship was entirely coincidental; the filming of the 2005 version was being done during the 2004 regular season, including scenes filmed at Fenway Park during actual games.

Fever Pitch (2005 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Fever Pitch, which was released as The Perfect Catch outside of the United States and Canada, is a Farrelly Brothers comedy film.
Fever Pitch stars Jimmy Fallon as Ben Wrightman, a 30-year-old schoolteacher and lifelong Red Sox fan courting Lindsey Meeks (Drew Barrymore) during the course of the 2004 Major League Baseball season.
Reportedly the film's ending was rewritten at least once as the real-life Red Sox won the 2004 World Series, their first win in 86 years.

 Fever Pitch (2005)
This film, based on a Nick Hornby (About a Boy) book about a hapless English soccer team, had to have it's ending rewritten when the Red Sox turned things around against the Evil Empire (that's Yankees to the Non-Baseball-a-holics) and went on to the World Series.
Because Fever Pitch, the latest movie from the New England native Farrelly Brothers, shows you what it really is to be a member of Red Sox Nation.
I, of course, saw this film at a theatre across the street from Boston Common.
