Fiat Dino - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Fiat Dino is a front-engined, rear-drive sports car manufactured between 1967 and 1973.
As opposed to Ferrari's version, the Fiat Dino was equipped with a live axle coupled with leaf springs.
The Dino was never sold officially in the United States, although many people imported them.

Dino (car) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The name "Dino" honors the founder's late son, Alfredino "Dino" Ferrari, who was responsible for the creation of the V6 engine.
In 1967, after Dino's death, Ferrari wished to race in the 1.6 L class of the Formula 2 racing series with Dino's V6.
Enzo Ferrari asked Fiat to co-produce a sports car using the engine, and the front-engined, rear-drive Fiat Dino was born.

 .:: Italian Cars - Fiat Dino ::.
The Fiat Dino is a striking example of this relationship: a car that benefited both Ferrari and Fiat in different ways.
Fiat on the other hand felt that it couldn't do without the advantages of the association of their products with the rich Ferrari racing heritage and so the Turin-produced Dinos were fitted with Fiat badges.
The Fiat models were considerably cheaper than their Ferrari equivalents, though the qualification "poor man's Ferrari" was an understatement which didn't do the cars justice.

 Fiat Dino 2000 Spider 1966 -1969 - page 2 of 5
Fiat's big sport coupe at the time was the 2300 S (1961-1968), more of a sporty tourer than an exciting everyday racing car.
Fiat could do with a replacement to boost their image and a connection to the Ferrari fame could be advantageous to general Fiat sales.
Disappointing was the use of the outdated live axle construction of the Fiat 2300 S in the rear of the Fiat Dinos (albeit with no less than four telescopic dampers).

Fiat Dinos are great to look at and fun to drive—almost as much fun as their Ferrari Dino cousins.
While the Fiat Dino is often called a "poor man's Ferrari," do not misconstrue this slur as meaning you can afford one if you're an enthusiast on a tight budget.

I don't know how far it is going to go since the Yahoo group is so good and my plan was just information on my car and the FIAT Dino in general but people have asked for more, so here goes.
I actually found quite a bit on the history of the FIAT Dino but very little on the details which is why I say I found very little and so if you want to read about them compared to other cars, this is not where you want to be.
This is just going to be a un-organized mess of FIAT Dino pages and as I work on the car and enjoy it, I will of course be adding to these pages.
