It was a '58 Fiat 500 Nuova built to be sold in the US.
It wasn't too long after we found our '63 Mini Cooper, but still were interested in a Fiat 500 if we found one.
The trip to pick up the Baby Fiat, was so uneventful in comparison to picking up the Mini Cooper it almost isn't worth writing about.

The silly part is, the Panda is still about this size, and was originally available with the 500's engine (the 597cc 2-cylinder) and later with AWD
It is also an abbreviation of something, but I can't remember what it is. All I know is they wanted to make it say "Fire" to give the impression that the engine is somehow better...
They call it "Fire" becayse it's a 1.0, 55HP engine on that car...yep, not what you would call Hot.
