In plants, the pollen is carried to the egg by the wind or an unrelated creature.
Most creatures who participate in sexual reproduction on this planet have two sexes, but that doesn't have to be the case for fictional creatures.
However, if this area of creature interaction isn't at least investigated by the author, then the risk is that every unusual creature will be assumed to have a personal life identical to its earthly counterparts.

Science fiction has envisaged the possibility of everything from kind, wise, and even cute extraterrestrials, like ET, to utterly malicious, scheming monsters, like Giger's Alien.
On balance, ever since Wells unleashed his marauding Martians (see War of the Worlds, novel), the fictional creatures from "out there" have tended to be of the usurping, death-ray variety - not surprisingly, since this makes for a more compelling plot.
Any creature we contact will also have had to claw its way up the evolutionary ladder and will be every bit as nasty as we are.

In fact police have said "we are looking beyond the deity," continuing an unjust favoritism of fictional deities that has long hampered Nigeria in its development of equality between people and fictional creatures.
For instance, unicorns are not subject to having their droppings picked up after them because they are “distinctive and extraordinary creatures whose droppings are filled with wonderment and magic,” or at least that’s the explanation to their policy.

 Werewolfs
The truth is that were-creatures do exist today(a lot more than you would think) and have existed in the past in every society, every culture, every people.
Also, modern werewolves and were-creatures fit the same patterns found in folklore the world over, NOT the current "mythos" of werewolves that is based entirely on movies and books and is far removed from modern day real sightings and ancient folklore.
If these people who think they are were-creatures are simply people catching onto a cultural icon, one would not expect were-creatures to conform in their "hallucinations" to ancient, little known folklore instead of the current media image.

On the contrary, merely possible individuals (and fictional individuals as well) have no more claim to be regarded as a kind of individual than rocking horses have to be regarded as a kind of horse.
That, however, could have occurred only if a fictional character could ever be the same person as a real-life one, something which is extremely debatable to say the least, even though it is entirely possible that a real-life character should satisfy the same description as a fictional one.
That is not to say that there is anything wrong with saying ‘Socrates is not fictional’ or ‘Socrates is not mythical’, but only that it is misleading to construe those propositions as ‘Socrates is not-fictional’ and ‘Socrates is not-mythical’ rather than as ‘Not(Socrates is fictional)’ and ‘Not(Socrates is mythical)’.

The book is filled with historical and fictional characters who become embroiled in the various plotlines.

 Getting It Wrong
I have always disliked that weird hybrid of fact and fiction known as the "docudrama." An inherently dishonest contrivance, it jumbles actual people's words and deeds with fictional characters, invented dialogue, and imaginary occurrences—but never tells the audience which is which.
The only real protagonists are the news headlines, whose eyewitnesses are a host of fictional creatures who flit in and out of scenes to no purpose or effect.
The creatures eat, sleep, watch TV, have sex, make phone calls, and meet in restaurants and offices where famous names are dropped in conversation, and actual historic personages turn up in cameos.

As the millenium nears its end and we approach on knowing all living species of mammals and birds on this planet, it becomes more difficult to picture a time, not so long ago, when people imagined fabulous fictional creatures living on Earth.
Born in the minds of people, and spread through myth and folklore, these animals captured the imagination and grew with the re-telling of their existence.
One of these imagined creatures, the kraken, was based on a real sea animal, one of immense proportions, equipped with terrible grasping arms, thousands of suckers, sharp, powerful jaws, and glaring eyes the size of Frisbees.

In fact, Sinclair's fictional and non-fictional works often intersect, and part of the interest of Lights Out, for those who have read the novels, is in noting the “real-life” equivalents to people and episodes described in Downriver and Radon Daughters.

Docile and domestic animals such as sheep, goats, and chickens evoke sacrifice—a life given to us for food and clothing as well as specific biblical narratives and imagery of the sacrificial lamb.
Now, merged with plants, these animals are hybrid creatures, as the artist asks, “What would happen if the DNA sequence of a plant or mushroom were spliced with that of an animal?” Her sheep, joined with branches and flowers, become Dolly, the first cloned mammal and the universal symbol of genetic engineering.
