Stargate (also referred to as "MacGyver in space"), the scientific video-journal, is the top-rated television show in the entire universe, thanks to its carefull scheduling and ground-breaking discoveries involving imaginary materials and concrete ideas about abstract things, like "energy", and "The US Military".
The Stargate team's goal is ultimately to find the meaning of life, a theme only ever really touched on in Season 1, but as the seasons continue to drag on into infinity, the team has been unable to avoid the issue entirely, and even made a fictional spin-off "Stargate Atlantis" to try and distract people.
Stargate is first and foremost a physics video-journal, detailing the lives and works of a group of astrophysicists working in conjunction across the galaxy.
