The number grew a bit as we approached the Civil War, as trouble was a brewing as we all know.

Fictional road numbers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A fictional road number is a road number that does not really exist except in works of fiction.
If a fictional road number is used in on TV or film, it is fllisted, meaning it cannot be used in real life for five years.
Since the county is apparently between Worcestershire and Warwickshire, the numbers in the county should technically begin with a 4 to be in the right "zone", according to the British road numbering scheme.

Cabinet Magazine Online - American Photographs: The Road
I was intrigued by the images reproduced with the review—shots of rural highways and road signs that brought to mind the Depression-era images of Walker Evans.
At first we were enraptured by these magnificent roads, then we got used to them and then we even got angry, if sometimes due to the repair of a route, we happened to make a small detour on some bumpy bit of old, pock-marked road.
Such roads are laid out with a special aim: to show nature to the traveler, so that it will not fall to his lot to scramble up cliffs in search of a proper observation point, so that the necessary quantity of emotion may be obtained without getting out of the automobile.

As the number closes, he reaches for one of the female aerialists and falls into the pit of nothingness.
The beautifully crafted aerialist piece “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” matches the lyrics of the song, with the aristocratic upper-class daughter soaring through the star-lit sky in a breathtaking number and the commoner Fire Man is on the ground.
Another literal interpretation of The Beatles lyrics is the number “Octopus’s Garden.” This aquatic dream-like scene visually immerses the audience underneath the ocean with the slow motion movements of white fish puppets, Octopus’s tentacles, jellyfish and aerialist acts.

It wasn't until 30 years later that the truth came out: the numbers were not as accurate as they should have been.
It was our original intention to borrow a Ferrari GTO and to run the two against each other at Bridgehampton's road racing circuit and on the drag strip at Westhampton.

But the gross numbers might serve to illuminate a difference of attitude (in the media, and among the public), a difference in the amount of publicity or the degree of controversy caused by a comparable number of deaths.
This number is easily grasped by any person and "feels large", even though it is a tiny number in the whole picture of national mortality and a small number in the context of annual road fatalities.

The roads leading back to the Rappahannock River were full of Union wounded during the afternoon of the first day's fighting.
But Jackson's men were confined to the road in the thickly wooded area, and a brave charge by the Eighth Pennsylvania cavalry--the only cavalry charge at Chancellorsville--was able to hold off the Confederates' advance long enough for Union artillery to be brought up and employed (Hungerford, 526).

Hearing her on such numbers as Sister Rosetta Tharpe’s “Strange Things Happening Every Day,” the Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey’s “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” or her own arrangement of “You Ain’t Got Nuthin’” is extremely revealing, with the edge and intensity seeping through despite the atmosphere of reverence and tranquility.
The Glory Road is quintessential hillbilly gospel, backed by Elvis Presley's 1958 studio band, and sung by one of the sassiest preacher's wives ever to set foot in a sanctuary.
We have the Numero Group to thank for keeping her spirit and soul alive, and this excellent collection, featuring stunning originals as well as several wonderful traditional gospel numbers and soul-gospel treats, all done in the inimitable Fern Jones style, is a treat from start to finish.

Of the three works of fiction by Burt Levy, Montezuma’s Ferrari will probably be read by Italian car enthusiasts first—primarily because of the title, and the stirring painting depicting the 340 Vignale Ferrari Mexico (S/N 0224 AT) on the cover.
Levy recounts the 1952 Carrera Panamericana in vivid detail, putting young Palumbo in the co-pilot’s seat of a Mexican-owned and entered 212 Ferrari, which was promised to be sold to Big Ed Baumstein after the race.
Per Marcel Massini, the serial numbers of the 340s entered in the 1952 event were 0222 AT, 0224 AT, 0226 AT and the Mexico Spyder was 0228 AT.

The main road which runs the three miles in each direction between Typicalville's central business district and the town's two Interstate exits (Exit 168 and Exit 174, which are consecutive) is the main "fast-food alley", with a pronounced cluster of restaurants, motels, department stores and gas stations near each of the Interstate exits.
Outside town, even on the main roads, traffic levels are extremely light compared with Europe and it is not uncommon to travel miles with no vehicle travelling in the same direction in sight in front or behind you, although there is the occasional vehicle passing in the opposite direction.
