I would say that in no time at all, that this species will be established, quite well in Canada and the USA and will probably become well-known as a pet, as the green-cheeked conure species is now.
They are quite content to be on your shoulder to cuddle next to your neck, to sleep, relax, play, preen and hide in your hair.
The fiery - shouldered chicks, after they are finish having a snack, see the fresh water as an invitation to go for a swim in their water bowl.

The forest here was the lushest we saw and some trees were truly epiphyte laden.
Tried the flowerpiercer site at Km121 in the heat of the day - there were no bushes in flower at the usual site and eventually saw flowerpiercer where we had parked the car c1km back down the road and fiery-shouldered parakeet a bit further back.
Orange-chinned parakeet (Brotogeris chrysopterus): 12 at Hato Piñero on 16th; 6 at Morrocoy on 18th.

 Firey Shouldered Conure - Tailfeathers Community
I recently got in touch with an Eclectus breeder in my area and he mentioned that he currently had baby Fiery Shouldered Conures.
Fiery shouldered conures are known as demerara conures aswell, (Pyrrhura egregia) they're very similar to GCC's in character and care.

At 14.30 h we left the main road at the 'Villa Lola' crossing and took the yet quieter road to El Palmar.
During the trip back to El Palmar, we saw several roosts of Brown-throated Parakeet, and arrived at the parador at c.
A large parakeet-like bird flew across our heads, with a sound different from the ordinary parakeets (Brown-throated), and with a rather rolling flight.

Most of these birds are on the hunt for seeds or nectar and many can be seen as you drive along the Canaima National Park's lone paved road.

 Birdwatching Trip Report from Venezuela - La Escalera
Saturday, June 4 – David decided to tweak our original itinerary a bit to give us a chance at Rose-crowned Parakeet (E), so we went in the morning to La Culata National Park, which is in the Maracaibo drainage basin.
We had a bit of rain early, but it let up and some of the birds we found were Brown-throated and Blood-eared Parakeets (E), Red-headed Barbet, Black-capped, Golden-faced, Southern Beardless, and Mouse-colored Tyrannulets, Golden-breasted Fruiteater, Golden-winged Manakin, Rufous-breasted Wren, and lots of tanagers.
Some of the other species we bumped into here were Band-tailed Guan, Scarlet-fronted Parakeet, Guttulated Foliage-gleaner (E), Blue-naped Chlorophonia, and Chestnut-capped Brush-Finch.

Ridgely and Greenfield (2001) suggested that the subspecies pacifica of northwestern South America may deserve recognition as a separate species from Pyrrhura melanura.
Called "Red-winged Parakeet" in Meyer de Schauensee (1970), but that name typically applied only when dilectissima and costaricensis are considered conspecific (e.g., Meyer de Schauensee 1966).

I was told by the above, that birds never get sick and it is a waste of money to use a vet, you can mix different birds from different aviaries, you don't need to quarantine, you can use cages from galvanized wire as soon as you build them, etc., etc.
Also, had to treat some of the hook bills for bacterial and yeast infections, as some of them came with infections when I purchased them (some grass parakeets had the yeast infection in full swing).

The park’s highlands provide habitat for nearly 100 bird species, including 29 species found nowhere else.
Scientists are still adding to a list that includes harpy eagles, jabirus, oilbirds, at least seven species of toucans, and parrots such as the fiery-shouldered parakeet and tepui parrotlet.

A lucky meal stop on the bus journey from Barquisimeto to El Vigia at Pollo Sabroso restaurant gave us Vermilion Cardinal in the nearby dry woodland and scrub.
In the forest above Olinda II, near La Azulita, we saw Military Macaw, Rose-headed Parakeet, Pavonine Cuckoo and a white-crowned tapaculo; Rusty-breasted Antpitta and Grey-throated Warbler were calling unseen, but we failed to find Crested Coquette in the coffee plantation (not helped by rain).
Km 111-112 Fiery-shouldered Parakeet, Green-bellied Hummer, Rufous-breasted Sabrewing, Peacock Coquette, Guianan Cock-of-the Rock, Sharpbill, Roraiman Antwren (at the nest), Tepui/White-fronted Manakin, Chapman’s Tyrannulet, Tepui Greenlet, Flutist and Coraya Wrens, Rufous-brown Solitaire, Slaty-capped Shrike-Vireo, Fulvous Shrike-Tanager, but no Spotted Antpitta or Blue-backed Tanager.

Spiny Rats scurried across, and we even found some blind catfish in the small bodies of water.
Outside the cave, Venezuelan and Scarlet-fronted Parakeets granted great scope views, and we also watched a showy family of Orange-crowned Orioles.
The following morning those of us who didn't opt out had to face harder work, and we slogged our way up the muddy slopes of Cerro Negro.
