The band was in the midst of a glowing national tour, with a Top 20 single on the charts, and "You Can't Fight Fashion" was achieving respectable--although not overwhelming--sales, so Michael Stanley confidently called EMI-America's bluff, turning down the extension...EMI-America pulled the plug.
The band had proved--yet again--that they were a band who could break records as well as make them.
In a decade, the Michael Stanley Band had become Cleveland's 'great rock hope', the Midwest's 'heroes of the Heartland', and it was sometimes difficult for even Michael Stanley himself to fully realize his 'bigger than life' presence onstage.

I really don't feel that mass exposure of these tunes will do a lot for the band's longetivity, and I hope that these aren't the tunes that the band is remembered for.
It is an injustice that "Timebomb," "Salome," and every other brilliant tune from the band's previous releases didn't get the exposure that they deserved, but the band should not feel that it's necessary to compromise themselves either.
