Figure painting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Figure painting is a form of the visual arts in which the artist uses a live model as the subject matter of a two-dimensional piece of artwork using paint as the medium.
The live model can be either nude or partly or fully clothed and the painting is a representation of the full body of the model.
It is analogous in most respects to figure drawing, which is usually done in crayon, ink, pencil, watercolor or mixed media on paper.

Figure painting (hobby) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Figure painting is the hobby of painting miniature figures and/or model figures, either in its own right or as an adjunct to role-playing games, wargames, military modeling, etc.
Painting can be done by a professional painter, who may have more time to devote to painting, and/or greater painting skill, than the person wishing to have the figure painted.
The paint sits on the membrane and is kept wet by osmosis.

 Removing Paint
Amongst those are such things as type, age and thickness of the paint; type and dilution of your solvent; and the method you use of applying the solvent.
Painting, you use your brush to slop on the solvent (there's no real need to be tidy here), and then let the figure sit.
The paint will often appear to streak, blister, crack, bubble up and just plain lift off (but in the case of one of my most successful strippings nothing appeared to happen, until the bath when it just rinsed right off), this may take time depending on what you're using.

 Painting with Testor's Acryl
Acryl is tough and durable, but remember: since formulations for other hobby paints may change, always test for overcoat compatibility on scrap before moving on to valuable model parts.
Acryl figure paints represent a challenge because they must balance the fine line between thick and thin, providing adequate coverage and yet not masking detail.
Figure paints also can be mixed with any other Acryl color-despite variances in thickness-to achieve a special effect.

A miniature figure -- also known as a miniature or just a mini -- is a small figurine commonly used in role playing games (RPGs) such as Dungeons and Dragons.
Highly popular for WWII wargaming, as the figures are of the same scale (more or less) of 1:76 or 1:72 models (actually closer to 1:87 or 3.5mm/ft which is HO model railroad scale).
Although many gamers are indifferent to the quality of the paint job, for some the skilful painting of minis is a hobby in itself, on a par with the "more serious" modelling of historical and military figures.
