Final Fantasy Chronicles is a MUST for Square fans who picked up Final Fantasy Anthology and therefore missed out on Final Fantasy IV.
Final Fantasy Anthology seemed to be just what the doctor ordered for old-school role-playing game (RPG) fans like me. After seeing what Square did with the Japanese version (called Final Fantasy Collection), I was more than a little excited to see the game on these shores.
Final Fantasy IV wont win any awards for graphics or sounds -- decidedly 16-bit (thus primitive by today's standards) -- but no one should be expecting anything more than that at this point.

After being forced to literally commit murder to acquire these crystals, Cecil confronts the king and is subsequently demoted from his prestigious position as Commander of the Red Wings (airships) and told to go kill a dangerous monster in the far off Mist Valley.
As a matter of fact, I almost think that Final Fantasy IX takes place in the same world, with it’s floating airships and mages that look mysteriously like a certain spell caster from FF4.

I rumors of a new Final Fantasy collection a long time ago, ans when I heard that the two games included in the package were Final Fantasy 4 and Chrono Trigger I immediately became interested.
Final Fantasy 4 is in my opinion the greatest game ever, and I have played a LOT of games.
This game has undergone some noticeable changes, for one thing not it seems more like a Final Fantasy game, most spells names were slightly altered in the US version on the SNES, and special moves names were changed, but now the spells sound normal to the Final Fantasy world.

Square Electronic Arts, has finally announced release of Final Fantasy Chronicles -- Which is the PlayStation remakes of Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger which is to be released in July 2001.
Final Fantasy IV on the other hand features several new features like dash, that allows players to move quickly through towns and dungeons; a two-player mode that allows two players to participate in battles together; and the translation totally will be redone.
However unlike the previous remakes of the Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger will have anime movies drawn by Akira Toriyama instead of CG movies and they will be scatted throughout the game and not just placed at the Begging and End of the game.

Final Fantasy is, by video game standards, an ancient franchise.
For those not in the know, the title “Final Fantasy” evokes images of lengthy turn-based battles, gripping storylines, and (for the most part) likeable and vibrant characters.
The story is told through brief cut scenes while you’re on the road, which are stored in your diary as “memories” (which become important at the end of the game), so there’s a lot of enjoyment to be gained by just travelling about and learning about this world piece by piece.

Although not as well known as Final Fantasy IV--and not even part of the Final Fantasy series, for that matter--1995's Chrono Trigger is a nonlinear adventure game where players must travel across time to save a princess (and the world in the process).
