Final Fantasy Anthology is a compilation of two Square Co., Ltd. computer role-playing games remade and re-released for the Sony PlayStation.
Final Fantasy Anthology was met with mixed reviews, especially from North American audiences who tended to be especially critical of the load time inherent in the CD-ROM format utilized by the PlayStation, but not in the original cartridge format utilized by the SNES.
The PlayStation remake of Final Fantasy VI was released separately in Europe.

While not as intensive as the animations from Final Fantasies 5 and 6, FF4's spells are brought to life with large flames and explosions, numerous flying ice cubes, glowing stars, and various other images.

Creatively speaking, Final Fantasy IV was excellent in its time, with the active-time battle engine being the biggest innovation, as well as the fact that the story is in no way linked to the previous installments of the series.
The fourth Final Fantasy only really suffers visually, with pixilated sprites, character portraits, and environments, not to mention inanimate enemies in battle (although a few flying enemies can be seen floating up and down).
Final Fantasy IV, finally, is difficult overall, yet definitely beatable, and will consume from thirty to forty hours of your life.

The Japanese release of Final Fantasy 4, often referred to as "Final Fantasy 4 Hard" in North America, marked the first appearence of Final Fantasy on the Super NES.
Every character in Final Fantasy 4 is an interesing mix of strenghts, weaknesses, and special moves, and they can all be a lot of fun to use.
Everything on the world map and in all explorable places is arranged in blocks, and most sprties on the map screen are one block in size, but some characters, such as frogs and children, aren't as big as the entire block so they have an appropriately small appearence.

While the more recent Final Fantasy games stick out in peoples mind, those who have been gaming for a long time will, no doubt, praise Final Fantasy IV as being the Final Fantasy that made the series what it is! Originally, it was released as Final Fantasy II in the United States in 1991.
Final Fantasy IV truly does define what Fantasy is, and it's nice to see that after fifteen years, the game is still a blast.
Aside from the story, the most memorable thing about Final Fantasy IV were the characters, bringing about some of the most well developed characters that had more than just a name, but a story of their own.

From the excellent storyline, to the addicting gameplay, everything in Final Fantasy IV Advance is just as good as it was in the early '90s, despite minor changes and a few lag issues.
Final Fantasy IV, arguably the breakthrough entry in the influential series, is a perfect fit for the Game Boy Advance and is a must-play experience for fans of role-playing games.
This was the first FF game I've actually finished (i've gotten to Disc 3 on Final Fantasy 7, but that's it) I personally didn't care for the story all that much, and the characters were good, but not great, yet the many extras in this game, added weapons, levels and monsters made it enjoyable.

The actual Final Fantasy II and III were released on the Famicom, or NES, system in Japan only.
The story of Final Fantasy IV is excellent, with many twists and turns as you play through the game.
This particular Final Fantasy is one of my favorites, and I plan on playing through it many times over in the future.

Final Fantasy IV is one of my most favorite games.
That's what I don't like about some RPGs like upcoming Final Fantasy games is that everyone is basically same in strength and charactistics (really applies in FFVII, where anyone can have any ability, FFVI has their skills).

Final Fantasy IV was really released in the US as Final Fantasy II as the Japanese gamers managed to get FFII and III on the Nintendo Famicom (NES in North America) which never made it to North American shores unfortunately.
Final Fantasy IV starts off with Dark Knight Cecil, Captain of the Red Wings, an elite group of soldiers sent by King Baron of the Kingdom of Baron to capture all the Crystals by any means necessary.
Final Fantasy IV is an amazing old-school RPG game that’s worth checking out and the graphics and sound are excellent and they hold it’s own even in today’s standards at times.

This might not hit modern gamers as deeply, but Final Fantasy IV was also significant because it was the first time you would ever see characters die and not come back in a game.
I’m going to stretch this a little and say that any game that allows a two-hit kill on a final boss (no matter how unlikely, given that the ability seems to work around 33% of the time) is nigh-irredeemably bad.
The original Final Fantasy IV (and the Playstation remake) had two bugs that a player could exploit to make their lives easier.

Final Fantasy IV (called II when it was first released out of Japan for the SNES because we never got the real II and III back then) is yet another wonderful Final Fantasy.
But still, FF IV Easy Type is a good FF to start out on if you haven't played any other FF's before.
It has all the qualities that make an FF good: great story, exceptional graphics (for the time it was released), very good character development, wonderful music, and it's easy to play.

The Red Wings were once a happy military force of the skies, commanded by the peaceful kingdom of Baron.
Final Fantasy 4 is in, my opinion, the single greatest Final Fantasy game ever.
A power hungry empire (as most empires are in Final Fantasy games heh) by the name of Baron is on a mad quest to cease the Four Crystals of the Elements: Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water (the same four crystals on FF1, FF2, FF3, FF5, FF Mystic Quest, and maybe even FF9!).
