 Finarfin
Finarfin was most loath to leave Aman, and he and his son Finrod Felagund were in the rear of the host.
First is a reason why Finarfin is never mentioned in connection with the quarrels of his older brothers: He did not share their temperament, and preferred not to be involved, so he went to Alqualonde, which also gave him the chance to meet and marry Earwen.
Finarfin was inclined to seek peaceful ends to situations, and Morgoth was inclined to cause strife.

Fëanor prevailed and lead the Noldor from Aman, and Finarfin and Fingolfin simply followed, not liking to leave their people "to the rash councils of Fëanor." They and many other of the "noblest and wisest of the Noldor" were at the rear, often looking back.
Finarfin chose to stay in Valinor because of the warning of the Valar and not for the slaying of his wife's kin.
Finarfin was bitter because of the slaying at Alqualonde.

And, if Finarfin did have any people under his authority, maybe doing what was best for them would have been to prompt them to stay by returning to Valinor.
Finarfin chose to stay in Valinor was after the kinslaying, do you remember that he and his brother fingolfin went with the host of the Noldor?
As I have said Finarfin went back to Valinor because the kinslaying and he did want to be part of it, remember that his wife was from the Teleri.

Finarfin, the half-Noldo king of what remained of his father's people in Aman, had led the Noldorin army alongside Eönwë and the lords of the Vanyar and Teleri in the battle, but only because duty called; he, being of a gentle disposition, disliked conflict and only took up arms as a last resort.
Finarfin noticed that this was not the same cloak she had been wearing earlier; that one was green and nowhere near as luxurious.
Finarfin and Ingwë both looked to Olwë; he, as the brother of Melian's husband and therefore the closest to her, and could answer that question better than either of them could.

And thus it came to be that Finarfin, King of the Noldor in Aman, sailed east, and he was greeted by Cirdan at the gray havens, and at long last, came to Middle Earth.

I like the way the scene was entirely from Finarfin's perspective, even though it was strange beyond words to hear Celeborn referred to as a 'younger' Elf Lord.
Finarfin was a little bit more mean than i would have thought, especially since Celeborn was part of his wife's family, but he probably would have had some issues with his daughter being on ME for so long and would naturally blame her husband for this.
There is so much that either Finarfin or Celeborn would have been directly or indirectly involved with in the ensuing ages of the world - it is tough because it is all assumed.

He would only allow the sons of Finarfin to enter into Menegroth and speak with him, for they were his kin (their mother being Eärwen daughter of Olwë, who was Elwë's brother), and Angrod was the first messenger for his brother Finrod.
Finrod fought with Sauron, but though the power of the son of Finarfin was great, having come from the Blessed Realm and walked under the Light of the Two Trees before their darkening, Sauron the Maia had grown powerful over the years of his service under Morgoth and had the victory.

Because Finarfin's cloak is dark and his hair is light, it's more noticeable with him, but I've found that generally speaking, it's not overly distracting in the game, should you decide to have him wear or change into one of those versions when he goes out for a night (or day) on the town.
