On August 19, 2005 a freak rainstorm in Toronto caused the Black Creek water level to rise, which caused a section of Finch Avenue West near Sentinel Road (due south of York University between Keele and Jane Streets to collapse, leaving a deep pit that prevented any pedestrian or veichular traffic from passing through.
In recent years, the TTC wanted to re-connect this missing link to Yonge as an alternate exit or entrance for buses into the station.
There is no sign indicating this link is a street, and it appears the link is now either a laneway or part of a parking lot.

It could take months and cost millions to repair the section of Finch Ave west of Sentinel stripped by a raging Black Creek during torrential rains Aug. 19.
For faculty, staff and students of York University, the washout of Finch Ave.
As a result of flood damage to the road, all Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) buses on the 36 Finch West and 309 Finch West routes will be diverted in both directions via Driftwood Ave., Grandravine Drive and Sentinel Road.

Jim Mason, 1734 Finch Avenue, stated that the area was zoned for residential uses and the proposed development will have negative effects on the area such as noise, lower property values, traffic and a negative visual effect.
He is concerned by increased traffic on Finch Avenue and noted that people already drive eastbound on Finch Avenue onto to discover that it is a dead end.

Service operates rom Finch station via north on Yonge Street, east on Cummer Avenue and McNicoll Avenue to Pharmacy Avenue, looping clockwise via south on Pharmacy, west on Finch Avenue and north on Victoria Park Avenue.
Cummer Avenue is named after Jacob Cummer, one of the first settlers in Willowdale after immigrating to Canada from the United States in 1797.

The shooting occurred in Rexdale on Lexington Avenue near Martin Grove Rd. The man was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
They went to the area of Marlee Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East and found an unconscious male in his late teens with apparent gunshot wounds.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital where he later died.

Finch is a major east west arterial in the north of the City.
On my drive home friday night the access to finch from the 400 was backed up for 5 km, then at Black Creek the road was flooded and only one lane, one car at a time was getting through the 2 ft deep puddle.
The bike path maps I have show that there is one that runs along fl creek from Shoreham south to finch and there is one that runs from Sheppard and Seekey north.

The new driveway would utilize the former Pemberton Avenue road allowance which was severed by the opening of the Finch bus terminal in 1974.
The construction of a new bus driveway directly from Finch Station to Yonge Street via the former Pemberton Avenue road allowance would have significant operational benefits to the TTC since it would avoid the need for northbound buses exiting the station to use heavily congested Bishop Avenue (see Exhibit 1).
The new bus driveway would displace 10 parking spaces, and the local Councillor has requested that, due to a shortage of spaces in the area, the 10 spaces not be eliminated but replaced in the immediate area.

Traffic along Finch Avenue East has been so heavy that the TTC once identified the 39 Finch East bus as one which could be converted to streetcar.
In order to reduce the number of buses needed to serve this route, and to also reduce buses operating on McNicoll Avenue, a light rail line should be constructed in the hydro corridor north of Finch Avenue, linking the Yonge Subway to the eastern edge of the city.
The stations located between Finch Avenue and 14th Avenue will be designated at transition stations.
