The Labour MP's bill of nearly £40,000 for postage and stationery and £10,000 for a second home in Edgware helped put him in the top ten of high expense claims nationwide, with a grand total of £147,650 (on top of a £57,485 salary).
MPs in neighbouring constituencies each claimed £30,000 less than Mr Dismore, but he says his large expenses bill simply proves how hard he works for constituents.
Mr Dismore said that it was not practical, given the long hours he works, to commute the eight miles from his Edgware home to Parliament, preferring to stay at his Westminster flat.

Thank you for your email to my constituency office of the 16th of March.I am afraid that I will not be able to join you on the 19th of March, as the notice is regrettably rather too short and I already have a programme long ago agreed for that Saturday throughout the day and evening.
Their return to the football league proper is long overdue and I look forward to seeing the Bees back where they belong next season.
