  A survey of applications of mathematical topics such as graph theory, linear programming, probability and statistics, decision theory, game theory and geometry to areas such as management science, political and social choice, economics, art and physical sciences. 
  Emphasis on the nature of mathematical reasoning, discovery, and invention, and on the aesthetic, biographical, historical, and philosophical aspects of mathematics. 
  The Finite Mathematics course is a staple of most Business programs, though a number of other majors are also beginning to require it.
