The video covers a broader range of historical events than most.It manages to steer clear of the cliches of Scottish history and looks beyond kilts and battles with the English.
Fiona Watson does well to keep the things interesting even although some of the academics who contribute to the video can be a bit dry.
Some of the video, especially the earlier episodes seem to deal with history in a rather academic way, but the later ones are more successful in focusing the people of Scotland.
