FIRE staff from Northumberland Fire and Rescue will be raising money for children when they follow in the footsteps of the heroes from 9/11.
Northumberland Fire and Rescue is proposing a £10 million PFI funded investment aimed at driving down deaths and injuries from fires and accidents and improving community safety throughout the county.
Although the service achieved the highest possible scores for political and managerial leadership and community safety schemes, performance in 2003 was below average in fires, deaths and injuries.
