  Cupping
Cupping is a therapy in which a jar is attached to the skin surface to cause local congestion through the negative pressure created by introducing heat in the form of an ignited material.
In clinics, the cupping method is mainly used to treat Bi syndrome caused by wind dampness, such as pain of the low back, shoulders, and leg, gastrointestinal disorders such as stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea, and the lung disease such as cough and asthma.
It is not advisable to apply cupping to the patient with skin ulcer, edema, or on an area overlying large blood vessels, to the patient with high fever and convulsion ; or to the abdominal and sacral regions of the pregnant women.

Cupping is used primarily to treat respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and congestion; arthritis; gastrointestinal disorders; and certain types of pain.
In “air” cupping, instead of using a flame to heat the cup, the cup is applied to the skin, and a suction pump is attached to the rounded end of the jar.
While cupping is considered relatively safe (especially air cupping, which does not include the risk of fire and heat), it can cause some swelling and bruising on the skin.

 Cupping
Cupping refers to an ancient Chinese practice in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced (by using change in heat or by suctioning out air), so that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup.
The earliest use of cupping that is recorded is from the famous Taoist alchemist and herbalist, Ge Hong (281–341 A.D.).
Cupping therapies often follow the point selection pattern that is used for standard acupuncture therapy, with somewhat greater emphasis on the use of back points (due to the ease of performing this technique there).

Cupping used to be applied by animal horns many centuries ago but now has been replaced by bamboo, ceramic, glass and quite recently by vacuum pump plastic cups, the latter have become very popular due to their ease of use due to the control available over the amount of pressure created by the cup.

When the inside of the fire cup has been coated with alcohol, use the match or lighter to ignite the alcohol, and then while it’s still flaming, immediately place it over the lancet punctures.
After placing the cup over the lancet punctures, the suction will draw out the blood, and the few remaining drops of alcohol could serve to keep the blood flowing a bit longer than it normally would.
Once the cup is filled enough that the suction is beginning to weaken, simply remove from the donor, clean the punctures you left, and enjoy the blood now conveniently filling your cup.
