Firefly was broadcast on the FOX network but was cancelled after only eleven of the fourteen produced episodes were aired.
In contrast to many shows, Firefly was filmed using a handheld camera style, with deliberately misframed or out-of-focus subjects, in an attempt to give scenes an immersive and immediate feeling; computer-generated scenes mimic the motion of a handheld camera.
