Firefox (novel) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Firefox includes various advanced capabilities; most notably it employs an unspecified form of stealth which makes it completely undetectable to radar; it is capable of attaining speeds of Mach 5 or more; its weapons are controlled by the thought impulses of the pilot, allowing them to be very rapidly aimed and fired.
Firefox is regarded by many as being one of the very first examples of the Techno-thriller, a genre which was further popularised with Tom Clancy's The Hunt for Red October seven years later.
Firefox and Firefox Down also seem to be the inspiration for two missions in Hidden and Dangerous, in which the player must steal a top-secret revolutionary German bomber and fly it to safety.

Up until about a week ago, the name Firefox would have brought back happy memories of that Clint Eastwood classic, in which our plucky hero sneaks into the Soviet Union, evades suspicious locals and KGB agents, before finally making off with one of their top secret jet fighters.
These happy memories are only slightly clouded by the knowledge that in Craig Thomas'; Firefox Down sequel novel, our not so plucky hero crashes the plane into a lake within the opening chapter.
There's a new Firefox in town and it's the hippest, happening web browser this side of… well, anything this side of Microsoft's Internet Explorer, to be brutally honest.

While Microsoft has been relatively idle, the developers of Firefox have continued to add functionality and provide what was perceived to be more secure code.

This tells Internet Explorer to run at a reduced privilege level C, or "constrained user." This makes it so that if there is any sort of hole/vulnerability in IE or Firefox, the damage that can be done by an exploit is severely limited.
