The band released its self-titled debut Firehouse in 1990 which provided the hit singles "Don't Treat Me Bad", "All She Wrote" and the power ballad "Love of a Lifetime", whose intro is a somewhat blatant (albeit musically simpler) rip-off of Journey's "Faithfully".

North Carolina's Firehouse had been one of those bands who enjoyed the ride on the hair band wave, with no-nonsense guitar driven rock and roll laced with powerfully melodic lyrics.
Here in the year 2000, Firehouse is alive and well, and doesn't really need a huge rebirth like some of their peers because they have remained together since the tough mid-90's, turning out album after album and thrilling fans world wide with their hot live show.
In the late summer of 2000, Firehouse released a live album "Bring 'Em Out Alive" and is now in the studio putting the finishing touches on their next studio album, due out in early 2001 on Spitfire Records.

US band Firehouse prepares to rock northeast   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
New Delhi, Dec 9 (IANS): US band Firehouse will this week become the first major international rock band to play in India's northeast, and its members are looking forward to playing for their Indian fans and, of course, sampling Indian food.
Ahead of Firehouse's journey to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, for a concert Saturday, guitarist Bill Leverty said the US band, probably best known for the ballad "Love Of A Lifetime", was "so excited to finally be able to come to India for the first time".
Though Firehouse are criticised sometimes for lyrics that aren't contemporary and for playing music that harks back to the 1980s, Leverty believes their brand of rock is making a comeback in the US even without support from radio stations.

Just curious - how many folks are "technically" interoperable (in other words, they're all on the same radio band and type of system) with their neighboring departments - meaning that they COULD talk to the "other" folks, such as other FD's, PD units, EMS, or whatever; but because of personalities, they don't.
After years of lobbying and political arm twisting, most opposition to this plan disappeared, and it was adopted by the FCC, thus clearing the way to move cell phones to one area, and Public safety Communications to another area, ending the interference problem.

In proper folk music form, it's not like the band is out to get rich: Thomason worked as a high school teacher and assistant principal for much of that time (he apparently retired in 1999).
According to Thomason, he believes that bluegrass is "band music," not the music of one individual; as a result, each performer has the opportunity to shine.
From gospel to rollicking bluegrass, the band embraces each tune with trademark enthusiasm (though to hear Thomason tell it in one of his humorous tales, there's really only one difference between most "old-timey" songs, and it isn't found in the music).
