Firestone was originally based in Akron, Ohio, also the hometown of its archrival, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

GEORGE HEALEY, JR., RESPONDENT, v. THE FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY, &C., APPELLANT, AND ALL-INN TRUCKING, ...
Supreme Court denied Firestone's motion, concluding that there was sufficient circumstantial evidence to implicate Firestone as the manufacturer of the accident-causing rim.
Indeed, in a subsequent affidavit Biassi averred that tires and rims on the All-Inn trucks were changed frequently because of severe use on equipment primarily driven to haul dirt and gravel over rough terrain, and that broken and worn-out rims were discarded without any inventory control.
Equally unavailing to prove identity of the manufacturer was the affidavit of plaintiff's expert Hahn regarding his December 7, l99l examination of the rims on all l0 of All-Inn's trucks and the spare rims on its premises.

 99-6100 -- Thompson v. Firestone Tire & Rubber Company -- 01/06/2000
She alleged that she was wrongfully terminated in retaliation for having filed a workers' compensation claim and because of a perceived disability after sustaining an on-the-job injury to her left arm, left shoulder, and neck.
Defendant claimed that it laid plaintiff off because she could no longer perform her assigned job of tire sorter, because it was not obligated to reassign her to another job, and because, even if it was so obligated, there were no other jobs at the plant that she could perform with her medical restrictions.
On appeal, plaintiff argues that she established a prima facie case of workers' compensation retaliatory discharge and produced sufficient evidence from which it could be inferred that defendant's explanation for her layoff was unworthy of credence.

¶3 Dayton Tire Company, a subsidiary of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company (Firestone) was in the process of constructing a tire manufacturing plant on the east side of Council Road, bounded on the south by Southwest 29th.
She also claimed that in constructing the plant, Firestone and Ferguson had altered the contour of the ground causing water to be diverted and to accumulate on the roadway, which mixed with the tracked dirt created a very slick and hazardous driving surface.
Plaintiff asserts the change in the natural drainage caused by the construction of the tire plant caused the water from the rupture to run onto the road and accumulate at the point of her accident.
